Lately, I can’t seem to go a day without being bombarded by the common belief that AI and automation will eliminate our jobs sooner than we’d like. However, the problem may not be so much about robots replacing us; it’s about not having enough people to fill the jobs.
According to predictions, by 2030, the global talent shortage could reach 85.2 million people, costing up to $8.5 trillion in lost economic opportunity. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, by 2035, the number of individuals over the age of 65 will outnumber children for the first time in U.S. history. This demographic shift could exacerbate labor shortages as more workers retire and fewer young workers enter the labor force.
